A quotation from Cox, Marcelene:
«
Parents are often so busy with the physical rearing of children that they miss the glory of parenthood, just as the grandeur of trees is lost when raking leaves.

🛑 Ever felt overwhelmed by the nonstop pace of life? My latest blog entry emphasizes the power of taking a break. In a world where busyness often masks as productivity, it’s essential to recognize that hitting pause isn’t a weakness. It’s a testament to our humanity. Let’s remember to breathe, reflect, and stand up for those who can’t afford such pauses.

The Kanban Guide talks about optimizing for effectiveness, efficiency, and predictablity. Counterintuitively, we often optimize for busyness instead, which makes the whole system worse. My thoughts at:

@wordswithnima I am against the #glorification of #busyness in general. I used to be a hardcore workaholic for many years. I used to be proud of how long I could work & was a former glorifier of the grind/work hustle. It damaged my physical & mental health. We can all be productive with our work lives, without grinding/hustling ourselves to death. I support 4 day work weeks & UBI too. I support daily naps atop.
"The busy person sows and harvests and rests upon these gains. But what is the purpose of this rest? Only to begin once more...nothing is gained by the cycle other than rest from the labor it requires."
