This reddish brown #ClearwingHummingbirdMoth, #Hemaris, entertained me for quite some time as it flitted from one pink bloom to another of the Butterfly Bush, #Buddleia. It comes by its name honestly as it hovers, hums and nectars just like the Hummingbird and it loves the same flowers.

#myrtleleafmilkwort is an evergreen #southafrican shrub or small tree found along the southern and south-eastern coasts.

It can typically be found on dunes, rocky places, along forest outskirts, beside streams, and in open grassland.

The soil here on the farm is sandy, with rocky quartz and some areas have considerable eucalyptus oils infused within the soil, therefore it’s a challenging environment to grow some plant species.

They’re looking happy and healthy on the farm however, in #Centralvictoria #Australia, therefore the conditions must be agreeable to this #butterflybush (an additional name it is referred to).
