I was too worked up to meditate, so I did some work on #ButtSculpture for a bit and that did help.

I think he's now at a stage where I just have to buff him all over 😉 and he'll be ready to glaze!

I found the other sheet of P800 wet and dry paper I bought, so I'm less worried about that than I was. It's a little tedious, but doable.

In case anyone's wondering how #ButtSculpture is going, he's at the MINDNUMBING paint-and-repair stage before I add the glaze and finally call it quits.

The paint I used at first was too thick, which has added texture I didn't want. It also revealed the cracks I thought were fixed weren't really. So I have been painstakingly applying very gentle sanding and more paint in layers.

ButtSculpture also accidentally got left outside in the rain for ME/CFS reasons, leading to more issues...

Painting the bottom part of #ButtSculpture can't believe I thought this would take me, like, 3 days for everything. Armature, sculpting, the lot. 5 months later...

So far today I have managed some washing up, taking three of my pills (the prescribed ones, it doesn't matter as much if I miss the other) and painted some of #ButtSculpture.

I accidentally left Butt Sculpture out in the rain last weekend and this left two small holes in the paint. I'm trying to repair that and so far I have made it worse, not better, but I think if I can sand down the edges when it's dry it will eventually all blend it.

Fucking knackered now, tho.

Most of #ButtSculpture has had a second coat of paint now, and tbh I am much less satisfied with him than I was last night.

I wish I could have spent more time erasing his lumps and bumps, and tending to his cracks (quiet you!). It just makes me sad as the effort involved means I can do this only once. But I have to draw a line somewhere, and my health is fucked. I can't keep working on him, even in little chunks. He needs to get finished

Lovely evening spent with @Fredatron , eating curry, painting #ButtSculpture, and watching Alien 3.

He doesn't photograph well in this light, and I've only done a portion of the front and top, but he's already looking better for it. You can see the line between painted white and white clay about half way down the closest leg.

I have painted the top of #ButtSculpture and changed my bedsheets.

This was too much work. Time to rest.

The spiders in this garden are bloody cheeky! I went inside for *5mins* and one had already started building a web on #ButtSculpture!

Hard to capture in a photograph, but the parts where I've done the final round of polishing on #ButtSculpture are so shiny and smooth I want to cry! (Second image includes front bottom.)

But seriously, the grey clay filled in the cracks really well. I am ready to move on to the final stage of sanding.

After that, I'll do him all over with a damp paint brush to make any fibres sticking up lay flat. Then it's in with the white paint (bye bye stretch marks 🤞) and finally the glaze.

OK, I'm gonna sand the #ButtSculpture, but only for half an hour.

#ButtSculpture underwent some significant sanding surgery today, which unfortunately revealed a whole bunch of cracks. At a guess, the unsightly bumps that were ruining his lines owed at least some of their origin to previous attempts to cover up said cracks where I used too much clay.

Alas, the small portion of white clay that remained had dried out since my last round of crack-repair, so I had to use the dark clay I bought in error.

This puts the onus on finishing him, as he now looks>

#ButtSculpture is unreasonably irritating to work with.

The fact that it now looks really good from one side makes the fact that it doesn't look quite right from the other SO much more irritating than when it all looked kind of OK.

But I can't just display it with the OK side pointed at the wall, because *I* will know it's wrong.

Think I'm gonna have to accept that #ButtSculpture won't be ready in time for my party on Saturday. I need to rest, and Butt Sculpture needs to be done right :(

I really wanted to have people round to see my house and my nice things looking grown up and proper, but I just can't get it there.

And on Monday people will ask if I did anything nice on my time off. Sigh.

I'm going back to bed.
