Over the last decade or so I have been changing my buying habits for many things. I used to be very much of the "buy the minimum to get by, at the cheapest price" school, but I found I ended up re-buying things that broke, or which weren't entirely suited to purpose, or which my needs outgrew. Ended up more expensive and worse for the environment.

I have to say I'm happier now, buying better things to start with (when I can).

it’s pretty🍌🍌to me that “high”fashion revolves around just selling bags & perfume🙄; 2 things than was always about

very few people buy the actual runway clothes & do not get me started on how i feel about this b/c could go on literally forever about all of it

How do you break the destructive cycle that has forced you into?

to buy anything that you don’t really need / is non-essential.
what you buy. *
the things you already have.
the things you can.
everything as much as is practical to.

* if you don’t need to. Grow, build, make, sew, as much as you possibly can.
If you must buy, .
if you can afford to. Buy things that will last or can be repaired.

Handbuilding with clay is very mindful, my journey with this wonderful stuff started 6 years ago. It's affect on my life and well being has been profound. I would urge anyone to have a go at something mindful, not just pottery, anything.
This is my salt pig, handbuilt (I know, it's that obvious!!) extremely satisfying to make and used every day.
