I've been around the internet since just before Mosaic and Gopher appeared. True to that old spirit, my default position is that all advertising is spam. This is awkward when it comes to promoting my own writing. I've concluded that I don't think social media is a good advertising tool, but it is a good marketing opportunity.

I'm trying to square that circle here.
