C/2023 E1 (ATLAS) was discovered on March 1, 2023 at magnitude 19 using the ATLAS 0.5-m, f/2 Schmidt at Sutherland, South Africa.
ATLAS is an array of four telescopes spread out in Hawaii, Chile and South Africa, funded by NASA and operated by the University of Hawaii.

Comet C/2023 E1 is periodic with a period of 85 years. The graphics below show its current location, key parameters and its full inclined orbit.
