JFC - *another* (with ads!, which I switched to to save a few dollars) price increase.

I'm glad is dying but this splintering into infinite numbers of providers charging in the range of $20 on up is the worst-case replacement scenario I feared.

premium, which I tried for a bit, was under $15, now they want me back at $18.99.

This trend can not hold and I'm trying to wean myself off of all paid services, at least for a while.

Set your when connecting to a port as "charging" instead of "media " etc. Again this is by default is $enabled as charging, but incase u changed it, better it back as a habit.
Incase u are and still not with 1 & 2, just get a charging-only , the usual cables have to both charge and transfer. The charge-only cables can't be used to transfer data or do those things in public ports.
