Great adaptation of Ellis Peters' medieval mystery series (it was what got me into historical mysteries), but I'm bummed to see Hugh Beringar recast twice because Sean Pertwee was perfect in the role.

I'm really enjoying these books, they don't lose anything from seeing the TV series first. This one works to setup the conflict between King Stephen and Empress Maude, which will be useful for future books, and makes an excellent read!

I've always enjoyed the #Cadfael mysteries. I'm not a fan of the whodunnit genre, overall, but Sir Derek did a lovely job. There are people in the world who use faith as leverage to do good for everybody.
I'm Ordained #Dudeist, but I don't talk about my personal beliefs without invitation, "latter day norse pagan" covers it most days? Something about one's deeds showing ones faith.
I'm not a particularly "nice" person. I'm blunt, and pushy, and willing to upset people to get a point across. I'm willing to apologize later. <i>someone<i> has to be willing to be an asshole. especially now, when the world is in so much danger.
there isn't time to be "polite" when the world is burning, there isn't room for those stupid unwritten rules.

Just finished listening to the #audiobook "The Adventures of Brother Cadfael". It was a great collection of 6 abridged stories read by Derek Jakobi, who played #Cadfael in the TV Series.
It was even a better deal, as the collection was only 1 credit, against each individual story also equal to 1 credit 😀 6 for the price 1 👍
