The last big storm on New Year's Eve swamped my basement, not helped by the fact that the power went out, shutting down the sump pump and the french drain pump.

Now I have some sand bags, plastic sheeting, and lawn furniture set up to divert some of the water, and I'm hoping the power doesn't go out again.

Next storm is starting right now, and another on the horizon for Saturday.

We need the rain, badly, but I was hoping it wouldn't be all at the same time.
