I just went into an Irish cafe franchise and ordered food and a coffee. The Barista said they haven’t any coffee. I think she means the machine is banjaxed. So, I’ve been sitting here for 15 minutes eating a sandwich and begrudgingly drinking water, listening to customer after customer coming in, asking for coffee, and then having a variety of reactions to the bad news. I think this is what Starbucks would be like if Elon Musk bought it: no more coffee. #CafeLife #Coffee #X #RocketMan

I woke up early and decided that, instead of the healthy breakfast I was meaning to prepare, I'd get an early bus to town and treat myself to a fry-up.

To to lady sitting behind me in the cafe on her phone: either speak loud enough so I can hear all of your conversation or quieter so that I can hear none of it. This partial view into your complex life is thoroughly inadequate.

A small child came into this café
a passenger in the cradle
of his mother's arm
but then woke and began to cry.

It's obviously tired,
and 45 years in
on this callous-creating mud ball,
all I can think is
grab some coffee and soldier though,

naps won't always be there to save you,
