Ça fait des super #VoieVertes, mais une plateforme ferroviaire c'est fait pour faire rouler des trains. Il y a fort à parier qu'au fil du temps des morceaux de la plateformes soient réutilisées à d'autres fins, notamment à la sortie de #Cahors, interdisant à tout jamais le retour du #train.

The former #SNCF 🇫🇷 #RGP2 #X2709 diesel trainset is seen here stabled at #Cahors yard (if I remember well). Towards the end of its career this unit used to operate tourist trains for #Quercyrail on the line to #Capdenac, until 2003.

Construction began in June 1308 and ended in 1378. It is thought that the towers were completed in 1380 – during the Hundred Year’s War. As this was a time of conflict between the French and the English, the bridge’s defensive features (battlements and machicolations on the towers) were enhanced.

The decision to build a bridge across the Lot was already made in 1306, probably to accompany the establishment of a new neighbourhood between the town’s walls and the river.
