Two high speed rail lines (NorCal <-> SoCal <-> Las Vegas), expanded intercity rail, electrification, new stations and more. Travel around the state will be transformed by 2035. @chfrankcgn #ParisMarx is not a direct source. The direct source is #AshleyVance. Who he *actually* told he was serious about the #Hyperloop project, but that he also hoped #CAHSR would be cancelled.

When #HyperloopAlpha was released, it was presented as an "open source transportation concept", not something SpaceX/Musk planned to build themselves, and initially #TBC focused on #Loop instead. It was a few years later that TBC confirmed that they actually intended Hyperloop too.

@BrentToderian Anyway, I think #SpaceX/#Tesla/#ElonMusk made a huge mistake by their initial choice of route, and should have instead chosen LA-Vegas. #CAHSR supporters already felt incredibly under attack (admittedly, deservedly), with the project under threat, and felt that anything even tangentially related to alternatives - even novel concepts a decade out - was an attack.

LA-Vegas would have been a better example. No threat.
