What is beneficial is trade on mutually agreed terms. There is no question of #cakeism but if the #UK is prepared to listen to what the #EU wants in order to smooth trade, and agree to some of those requirements, there will be benefits.

@silentyeti @streets and that was my point. Starmer's #cakeism speeches this week are f'ing it, probably losing more votes than they win. He's still fighting the #brexit war, after most leave voters agree we're worse off after it. He needs to give positive ideas like reform, else he won't win in 2025 unless the Tories keep on losing it.

@silentyeti @Andy_European @UKLabour the trouble is that Starmer's continuity #cakeism is persuading a lot of people who would vote Labour to vote Green instead. He should be honest with people : protectionism and prosperity are not compatible in the long term.

I'm no healthcare expert, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if the government wants Scandinavian levels of service from the NHS then it will have to invest Scandinavian levels of money, which will have to come from Scandinavian levels of tax. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
