The young orchard trees at #CaledonianPark -- snow still creaking underfoot after a week. I love this small patch, and look for insects and flowers here. Farmers in UK are tearing out orchards at a considerable rate. Many fruit trees age quickly and generate a diverse and abundant set of living connections. We need more #orchards and #agroforestry. Corn cockle, in the pink family, #Caryophyllaceae. Poisonous. I have never seen it in ye actual Englishe countyside, where it is rare. But it's a common inclusion in wild flower seed mixes grown in parks and gardens. This one was still flowering in #CaledonianPark Islington in November.
