#GreatAlbums1990s – TOP 20 - #RedHotChiliPeppers – #Californication (1999). After a hot decade and temporary lapse, this disc revived the RHCP’s creative spirit as John Frusciante, fresh from rehab, rejoined the band with his furiously creative riffs. Anthony Kiedis sang with newfound confidence as the disc’s opening gambit – “Around the World,” “Parallel Universe,” “Scar Tissue,” “Otherside” – played like a best-of. Flea & Chad Smith’s funk hammered the foundations.

In 2004 vormt hij het supergroep #Ataxia met oa #JoeLalli van fugazi en werkt in 2005 met #TheMarsVolta.
In 2008 stoppen de RHCP even en pas in 2019 zal John terug de band vervoegen.
In 2010 brengt hij meesterwerk #TheEmpyrean uit, en electroband #Speeddealermoms.

Es la vuelta al redil llamado #RHCP de John Frusciante. El resultado del regreso lo benefició tanto a él como a la banda y se llamó #Californication. El álbum, publicado el 8 de junio de 1999, se convirtió en el más exitoso del grupo y si bien contiene destellos del funk y el rap que los caracterizaron, el mismo está dominado por las texturizadas melodías del guitarrista quien curiosamente se había ido molesto en 1992 por la exposición pública que les había dado el reconocimiento por Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
