Never let yourself be mocked for choosing an easy difficulty in a video game.

Too often than not a game scolds you for locking content behind a higher difficulty.
Only once in recent years I've seen a great example of encouragement:

Started playing on Normal difficulty and during the prologue, the game noticed me not having a difficult time to defeat enemies, so it offered me to set difficulty to Hard - and there were no consequences for starting lower.
