Last night we finished #CallOfTheNetherdeep! The players took the campaign's clues and hints fantastically, roleplayed restraining and talking to Alyxian in the fight rather than just 'killing a monster', and used so much effort to redeem him. I'd really been looking forward to this ending for them and really glad they completed it! ^^

Gestern hatte meine #Freitagsrunde und ich nur Rollenspiel, keine Kämpfe. Sollten wir öfter haben, auch wenn ich für sowas mehr vorbereiten muss.

Ich hab tolle Spieler*innen. Gestern habe ich meiner Sonntagsrunde gesagt, dass ich Probleme mit der Runde habe wie sie derzeit läuft (kein roter Faden, Abenteuer werden abgearbeitet). Sie hatten Verständnis, hatten teilweise das gleiche Gefühl.

Jetzt haben wir die Runde sehr schnell beendet (aber mit einem richtigen Ende!) und fangen demnächst #CallOfTheNetherdeep an.

Was mich sehr glücklich macht, weil meine Freitagsrunde die auch spielt und ich dann gar nicht mehr soviel vorbereiten muss.

It went great – but was surprised that the first thing my players asked when they heard about baby horizonback turtles was if they could buy 'em. DM be aware!

A session! after a month's break had some technical difficulties with dynamic lighting not working on roll 20 because of a truly dumb setting hidden away, but once we got going it was so fun!

Had to reschedule our Wednesday #DnD session. I’ll probably use the extra time to develop more alternate #sidequests , tying to PC backstories for our new campaign. (This is our 1st try at #CriticalRole ‘s #CallOfTheNetherdeep , but none of the players know that.)

Does anyone else “railroad” campaigns using a few (limited) parallel story tracks? As a new #DM, I work from modules, but really want to give #ttrpg players agency with story hooks and #homebrew that they find interesting.
