Saying "these are the same people who [thing that makes the first thing hypocritical]" without proving it is lazy and counterproductive.

You can probably track down someone who's actually said both things. If not, saying "these are the same people" assumes all people who do or believe shitty things do _all_ the shitty things - you've stereotyped shitty people.

It's fun and seems fair to stereoptype shitty bigots, but you avoid engaging with the actual reason for the shittiness. Maybe that reason is something somebody could do something about. But they can't if everyone just presumes their motivations are contradictory nonsense.

"These are the same people" risks reducing the people who disagree with you to cartoon villains out to get you specifically, willing to spew all manner of contradictory bullshit to justify it all.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of laughably hypocritical, cartoonishly evil ghouls out there. I'm just saying call them out by name rather than assuming that everyone who holds a bullshit opinion based on bullshit rhetoric holds another bullshit opinion based on more bullshit that contradicts the first bullshit.

For this I was asked to design a bell tower, the level was mostly done at this point so my job was to make sure the design would fit with what was already there. Later I came back to this, once the tower was modeled, to add a locked gate.
