Note to all videographers out there: When getting ready for a big important video shoot, please please please do check to make sure your microphone is actually capturing audio.

I was at a fashion show at a convention doing video capture and it was only when I got home and listened back to the audio that the audio was completely unusable.

Please don't be like me! Check your audio and video with a test shoot beforehand.

Tonight's project: the of my FDR-AX100E ! Normally it only supports recording 4K (UHD) at 25 fps (), but using the PMCA GUI firmware modding tool I enabled recording at 30 fps (). Now the camcorder will be much more useful! This mod must be somewhat recent, when I did some research years ago this solution did not exist. Actually it is meant for the newer Sony camcorder, but the exact same process also works for the 🙂

that reminds me, anybody have a Video8 (or Hi8) NTSC camcorder or deck they want to rehome for a reasonable price? should be working well, with stereo out and color, preferably. i got a single cassette i just want to archive, and keep putting it off.
