It has the charm of an adventure B-picture but it looks very impressive. It’s quite content to provide spectacle and harmless entertainment. And there's plenty of romance.

With Maria Montez as a dancing girl who wants to be a queen.

From Hell It Came (1957) may not be the silliest of 50s monster movies but it has to rank in the top 5. This is the infamous killer tree trunk movie.

The makeup effects are impressive in their way. They wanted a walking tree trunk that looked just slightly human and that’s what they got. It looks dumb but it looks like a slightly human tree trunk.
