This is the tomb of Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Canada's 1st francophone prime minister and one of only two PMs (the other is Sir Robert Borden) to be buried in Ottawa.
The nine women represent the provinces of Canada at the time of his death.

There is an urban legend that Albert Einstein played goal for the Canwood Canucks hockey team while traveling in Saskatchewan to find some peace and quiet in the 1930s.
Did it happen?
No.
Not only would Einstein be in his 50s, but the Canwood Canucks didn't exist until 1958.

Stuntman Dar Robinson launches himself from the CN Tower in August 1980. Attached by a cable, this was his second time doing the stunt from the tower.

Arthur Sifton was Alberta's 2nd premier from 1911-1917. His seven years, 157 days as premier ranks sixth among all premiers in Alberta's history.
He left the position to join the Union Government of Sir Robert Borden.

Today in 1988, Ethel Dorothy Blondin-Andrew becomes the 1st Indigenous woman to be elected to Parliament.
In 2004, she becomes the 1st Indigenous woman to serve as a cabinet minister.
She is also a Residential School survivor.

Today in 1995, Bruno Gerussi passed away. Best known for his role as Nick Adonidas as The Beachcombers, Berussi had a long acting career including performing at the Stratford Festival.
Gerussi also hosted Celebrity Cooks from 1975-1987.
