Proponents of #privatization often conflate private pay and private for-profit delivery. They claim that increasing either #PrivatePay and/or #PrivateForProfit delivery will reduce #WaitTimes .., reduce costs to the public system, and lead to better health outcomes.

@RebeccaShapiro The insurance industry has such a stranglehold on medicine in the US. However, here in Canada there is a pervasive attitude that we can somehow provide top- tier care without proper financial investment. Politicians act like it will happen by magic. I have a young woman waiting 6 MONTHS to get surgical and medical treatment for head and neck cancer. It’s appalling. Our ERs are over run. Good people are leaving. #canadianhealthcare

This is horrifying. My daughter had RSV. 3 days in isolation in a paediatric ICU bed. I cannot imagine the fear. This is unacceptable.. Canada is not a 3rd world country. Yet. #rsv #CanadianHealthCare

After 10 hrs in ER with 18, seeing and listening to a moaning puking man lying on the floor of the waiting room calling for help for 3 hours, waiting and waiting without knowing for how much longer, I can sleep well knowing there's nothing seriously wrong with her. Just saying a little prayer that we didn't pick up the puking thing while we were there. #CanadianHealthCare
