In R. v. Ramelson, the 🇨🇦 #SupremeCourtOfCanada #SCC holds an online police investigation (e.g. targeting people seeking sex with children) is a bona fide inquiry, & not entrapment, where "police had reasonable suspicion in a space defined with sufficient precision," looking to the characteristics of the virtual space at issue.

The decision builds on a 2020 decision considering entrapment defences in the "space" of phone numbers.
