When full-grown, this lil' tyke will be 6 to 7 inches long with powerful jaws. Square toes make them GREAT climbers, and they like to get into trees to hunt. Fierce!

A look at post-fire regrowth in a #Chaparral plant community: this place burned in both 2017 AND 2020.
#CAnative plants like bay laurel and greasewood are sprouting new shoots from root burls.
Even after two fires, there's a LOT of standing fuel.
