This week I’ve read A Death in the Parish by The Reverend Richard Coles. It’s a cosy crime where the local rector is the detective, set in the 1980s when things were still a little quaint. It does a good job of pulling in new characters, and developing those we already know. I’m not entirely sure I followed the solving of the crime though. There’s a lot of churchiness, which isn’t unexpected but some readers might find off-putting.
