This is not a novel observation or criticism. But I need to say it, or I'll explode.

Can film directors *please* get over the whole "I'm too cool to light my scenes" thing already? It's been going on for years, and I don't want it to last as long as the whole "mega shaky cam means it's an awesome action sequence" thing did.

This refusing-to-light thing reminds me of nothing so much as the kid in high school who was too cool to wear anything but black.
