#rocketlab just announced their next mission.

It is called "We Love The Night Life" and it is a dedicated launch for Capella Space.

This mission will launch the first of their next generation Acadia satellites and is set to launch on 28 July 2023. That is just 10 days after the previous launch.
The Electron rocket will take off from LC-1 in New-Zealand. It is currently unknown if Electron will take off from pad A or B. If they launch from pad B, it will be the fastest time Rocket Lab has relaunched a rocket on the same pad.

On top of that, #WeLoveTheNightLife will be the 40th Electron launch (including HASTE) to date!

Picked out #comet C/2022 E3 (#ZTF) out of the fullmoon-lit sky right next to #Capella - and surprise: at maximum zoom of the DMC-FZ300 a stellar-like central condensation appears (while the coma is subdued by the bright Moon). Checked with stellarium-web.org: this is NOT a background star! The star right next to the comet has 10.0 mag., by the way. Second (may zoom) picture is 3.2 seconds at f/2.8 and ISO 1600 (with contrast cranked up) - stars trailing now as declination has gone down to 41°N.

If you want to see the famous green comet at its best and brightest: tonight (5th February) is your night.

Look high in the east around 7pm local time. You'll see bright #Mars and the nearby reddish star #Aldebaran. Continue to the left and you'll find the bright yellow star #Capella. Tonight only, #CometZTF is close enough to Capella to see it in the same binocular field of view. You'll see it as a distinct smudge of light.

High overhead is the gorgeous yellow #Capella; the little goat. It’s the brightest star in #auriga the charioteer.

I’m not kidding. I’m color blind and I still can’t get enough of the color of this star. The dot in the night you see is four stars orbiting each other in two pairs, kinda like the teacups ride at the amusement park. Oy... dizzy...

2/ normally, i adore everything related to #astronomy. at #night, taking out the day’s trash, i stop to look at the #sky, searching for familiar #planets & #stars

it tickles me 2C #OrionsBelt, #betelgeuse & #bellatrix

my favorite lights are #capella #sirius & #vega

knowing the #SpaceStation & #HubbleTelescope are beneath my feet, with the #sun, is astounding

tracking “my very” & “mother just served” (IYKYK) makes me smile

but, the #moon? how i loathe it, because of what it brings

Speaking of the #Moon moving from night to night, tonight we'll see the Moon has moved eastward and is now about halfway between two bright stars: Orange-red #Betelgeuse in #Orion the hunter and golden yellow #Capella in #Auriga, the charioteer.

This is about smack in the middle of the #WinterHexagon, one of the most astoundingly amazing sights in the entire sky.
