@geekdoh I feel like it’s part of the whole #capitalistic pursuit of #more, always more more more. Make more money, buy more things. Of course everyone has their own reasons for wanting to advance their career, but on the other hand, society helps shape our #values, such as “#ambition is good.”

Even with a #meteorology degree (granted, it is from the last century), I had to research "primary production". It is the synthesis of organic compounds from atmospheric or aqueous carbon dioxide.

To note that i have experience as a "content writer", but i hate everything about it. I also have experience with data-entry and thats alright as well i suppose.

I have a history of having academic interest in computer engineering (Linux, Python, Arduino, CCNA/Networking) but it seems that most #IT fields are #capitalistic and since i do not have a significant credential, i wont get in anyway.

I have been a tutor to kids from 13-15 years of age but i do not want to get paid for it.

Humans do indeed have inherent #capitalistic tendencies but it would be a huge mistake to assume that capitalism has any inherent moral value that is compatible with other values such as a sense of fairness, #justice and empathy.

We may have capitalistic tendencies, doesnt mean all such pursuits have the same ethical implications, and hence are okay to pursue without societal #accountability

The point is to keep our desires, and the world's in check.
