Eigentlich war das Absichern der Logins mit #captchas nur eine zusätzlicher Nutzen. Im Grunde dienen sie zum Sammeln von Trainingsets für AI/KI bzw. Algorithmen.

Daher hat für mich die Studie gezeigt, dass die bisher gesammelten Trainingsets, zur Verbesserung der automatischen Lösungen geführt hat.

Leider wird #WEI auch mit dem Argument angepriesen, dass es dabei helfen soll, von Menschen verursachten Traffic von Bot-Traffic zu unterscheiden. Das würde #captchas überflüssig machen.

Die #Wikipedia hat große Probleme mit Bot-Traffic. Da würde dieses Argument also ziehen.

Allerdings glaube ich nicht an dieses Versprechen. Browser lassen sich heute schon mit externer Software fernsteuern. Das wird auch mit Browsern möglich sein, die WEI implementieren.

At least part of the reaction to #Google #WebIntegrity is that it disregards the polite fiction of #UserAgents completely. #Firefox #Brave and #Safari are being told point-blank to serve the interests of #advertisers or be kicked off Google services.

As others have pointed out #Apple has already quietly implemented similar behavior, but because it was advertised as a way to make #CAPTCHAs less annoying, nobody cared.

Today, there's a cool remote attestation technology called "#PrivateAccessTokens" that replace #CAPTCHAs by having you prove to your own device that you are a human. When a server wants to make sure you're a person, it sends a random number to your device, which signs that number along with its promise that it is acting on behalf of a human being, and sends it back. CAPTCHAs are all kinds of bad - bad for accessibility and privacy - and this is really great.

ARGH Fucking #captchas! Surely, if I've passed 2 or 3 captchas already in the past session, I have proven that I'm not a robot. Surely! Nooooooo, updating #Qtest settings require me to enter a captcha every frigging time I update the log-in keys.
