#CaptivePrince update: finished book 2, fully in the throes of YESMORENOW, and the kindle book store is giving me an Error 400: Request Header or Cookie Too Large. 😠

- oh no, halfway through book two there is context about the hunt incident that makes it even worse! 😭 oh nooooo!
- now any time something happens to a horse in this book, even if it’s just neighing a little unhappily, I skim through pages until I can confirm that the horse comes out all right. I’m not even a horse person, just a bleeding heart.

#CaptivePrince Relieved to say that I read this passage out loud to my boyfriend, who bellowed, “No! No—what? No!!!” when I named the third of the Prince’s lands.

I am dealing better with the weird mediaeval France/Ancient Greek crossoverness of it, and I swear I am enjoying the book, but—

#CaptivePrince update: the entire Veretian court has gone to the countryside for a day of fabulously luxurious hunting, and having read #JWQS, I know that this can’t go well. 😬 Such a shame that Damen doesn’t have psychic horse-girl powers.

#CaptivePrince Oh, the reveal at the end of chapter 8! Cold shivers. I really like that the chapter just ends there without showing us any reaction from Damen.

“I warned you about Nicaise because he is not Councillor Audin’s pet. Haven’t you guessed yet whose pet he is?” Laurent said, and then, when he didn’t answer: “Ancel is too old to interest my uncle.”

#CaptivePrince book one update, 35% in: I’m enjoying this so far, but it‘s still very distracting that the two kingdoms are so obviously expies of Renaissance France and Ancient Greece. 😅 I mean, on the one hand you have Auguste and Laurent, and on the other Damianos and Kastor.
