Lyrre released their first album yesterday and I am in love 😍
I'm gonna cry if "The Scene" is no longer part of the setlist.

I love how the playlist on our car is 85% metal and metalcore and the remaining 15% are a wild mix of chill singer/songwriter stuff (Counting Lifeboats), EDM (Alex Mattson) and weird mostly Finnish pop covers (Joel Hokka)
#JustListening Electric Callboy - Parasite
I can NOT wait to hear this song live on Saturday. I expect the crowd to go wild.
Thinking about going to Folkfield Festival next year, but only for one day. The two-day-tickets are a bit too expensive, given the fact that on Saturday I'd only be interested in seeing Versengold. I don't need to see Schandmaul twice.
But Friday with Letzte Instanz, Fiddler's Green and Subway to Sally (and Schandmaul on top) is tempting.
I've neither seen Letzte Instanz nor Subway to Sally live yet and both are bands I probably wouldn't get tickets for a headline show at this point. But getting to see them at a festival could be nice.
And Schandmaul need to fix the impression they have left when I saw them last time cuz that was pretty bad.

#JustListening: Caliban - Hibernate
Okay this song is a banger. And the lyrics hit me straight into my poor little heart. v_v
Random list of 10 albums I liked that came out in 2022 (in no particular order):
* Blind Channel - Lifestyles of the Sick and Dangerous
(Unsurprising for those who follow me. I liked it a lot, but I gotta admit that it was a weird factor that half of the songs were already known before release. Yet, with Autopsy & Alive Or Only Burning the unknown songs of the album included two real bangers)
* Electric Callboy - TEKKNO
(Just as unsurprising, but had the same issue as LOTSAD - half the album was known before release. I love it for its variety and with Mindreader and Parasite there are two true EC-style bangers that hadn't been published before.)
* Lost Society - If The Sky Came Down
(I didn't expect myself to like this album because I didn't get warm with Lost Society's old stuff. But 112 & Stitches gave me hope & while their old fans seem to hate them for their change in style, I love the new album an awful lot. Awake is probably one of my favourite songs of the year)
* Breathe Atlantis - Overdrive
(I only discovered this band because of Changes featuring Nico Sallach - and I really fell for them. They're amazing, go check them out if you like Metalcore.)
* Versengold - Was kost die Welt
(It was published so early in 2022 that I almost forgot it was published in 2022. I simply love some good Folk Rock and this album is amazing. Also I love how they picked up the topic of local myths in Germany - and turned one of my favourite myths from my home region into a song!)
* Fiddler's Green - Seven Holy Nights
(When your long-time fav band brings out an Irish Folk Rock Christmas album and includes some of your alltime favourite Christmas songs from about 10 years of singing in a choir. Thanks for this album!)
* Oceans - Hell is where the heart is
(This band is one of my live discoveries of last year and I love their sound. If there's a god she has abandoned us is a great song!)
* Alestorm - Seventh Rum Of A Seventh Rum
(Well this album is best summed up in a song title: P.A.R.T.Y.)
* Samu Haber - Pelastetaan maailma
(I was very sad about Sunrise Ave's breakup. And a lot of people are very sad about Samu Haber now singing in Finnish. But for me personally, that's the biggest win because how could I NOT like music in Finnish.)
* Caliban - Dystopia
(another band that tricked me into listening to them by featuring an artist I like, this time Christoph Wieczorek of Annisokay. They gained my attention when we started listening to confirmed bands for Full Force this year and I guess ... I like them.)
Sooo latest editions to our physical music collection:
- Breathe Atlantis - Overdrive (yes, I've been hunting this album mostly for Changes with Nico Sallach)
- Breathe Atlantis - Shorelines
- Caliban - Dystopia (hello Christoph Wieczorek)
- Oceans - Hell is where the heart is
Unfortunately our CD shelf is reaching its limits.
Hollywood Undead - This Love, This Hate
I don't even know why I like this song, but I love it.
I think I don't even listen to any other Hollywood Undead songs at all?

I am so soft for the music box-theme of this song 😍

Altamullan Road - When it's time
Each time this song comes up in my waiting list on Spotify I'm like "What's that? I don't remember." Each time I hear it I'm like "Omg this is amazing, let's add it to my list of favourites" - only to notice it's already on there.
Beautiful song, amazing vocals (says someone who struggles a lot with accepting female voices) and very ... haunting.
