Most of the #Mayan pyramids I've seen have a small structure on top. I imagine that's where ancient priests kept what they needed for rituals, like feathered robes & obsidian knives. 🤔🥻🔪

#Caracol was different. The top of the #pyramid is huge, with 3 smaller pyramids on top, and a complex with lots of rooms. Seems this was where the royals lived. 👑 Up here with a view over your domain, while servants carry everything up & down all those stairs... 👍😊

The tallest building in Belize is 1,300 years old. 😮 This is the main pyramid at #Caracol, an ancient Mayan city. It may not look so tall from here, but there are 3 more pyramids on top that you can't see from the bottom! 😂
