For the past year or two, the #Miata has had the speaker surround off. The original surrounds are too small and the door speakers have enough excursion to touch them (as demonstrated on the pax speaker - it tore the surround on the stock grill).

Today's project has been to correct that a little bit.

I’ve had these car subs through two moves (and decades?) now. Wonder if there’s still a market for these? Haven’t heard a bass rumbling car for a long time.

Made it almost a year car free, and still gonna be pretty car light, but no use pretending it makes sense to travel with kids in the US without one.

That said: Car has a USB A port that just isn't keeping up with Android Auto's power spend on my #GooglePixel

Anyone aware of a power bank or... Any other sort of gadget I could safely and reliably drop in line to keep the maps and music rolling while keeping up with USB C QC power requirements?

The stereo in our 2009 SUV is original. It offers AM and FM and it plays CDs (it holds six). It will not stream audio via Bluetooth.

Last year the AUX jack stopped working. So since then we haven't been able to play music or podcasts from our phones through it.

We could repair the AUX jack.

We could replace the entire stereo.

For now, however, we're playing #CDs. And it's kinda #cool.
