Second, offering ‘cooling credit’ for those releases of sulfur particles only opens the door to more GHG emissions with companies/projects claiming to offset their emissions when the reality is that we keep adding more #GHG in the atmosphere. Sulfur particles last up to 2 years in the atmosphere while #CO2 last 100 years. Once the cooling effect of those particles wears off, all the offset heat will come back unless we keep sending more balloons. This is not sustainable.
