This looks promising!
π° "Standardised carbon calculator in development for museums and galleries"
A trial version of The Impact Assessment Tool has been created as part of a partnership between the #DesignMuseum and URGE Collective - it's made to support the creation of temporary and touring #exhibitions specifically.

Oh hey, I've only gone and become #CarbonLiterate! π
I attended a great bit of training earlier this summer via a museum development network across the border as part of the #CarbonLiteracy project. π
It was brilliant, empowering, and enlightening. If you have a chance to get some CL training I absolutely recommend it.

Reading through #CarbonLiteracy forms from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and National Lottery Community Fund this afternoon. There are some *great* planned actions - funding, workplace policies, comms, behaviour change and the rest. #climate

Yet again, Tories criticising money being spent on a #ClimateChange Officer and #CarbonLiteracy Training in #burnley at Full Council tonight.
Despite one of the wards they have Councillors in being heavily affected by flooding in recent years, requiring extensive and disruptive flood defences being built they still either just don't get it, don't care or don't believe.

In carbon literacy training today and I have to come up with two pledges to reduce carbon - one individual, one team. It feels like a bit of a struggle so if you have any ideas, please let me know. #Sustainability #ClimateChange #CarbonLiteracy

Cutting our transportation emissions.
Since we all need to move from A to B our transportation touch points are inevitable.
But can we be smarter about the choices we make on π©π°πΈ to get from A to B?
Most definitely!
Here is a look at transport choices we can make every day that have a big emission reduction impact.
π Ditch the car
βοΈ Fly less!
π Use public transport more

π₯π²πΊπΆπ»π±π²πΏ: Qatar is one of the worlds largest producers of liquified gas and this is how it generates its electricity.
The organisers of the World Cup have informed that the newly inaugurated solar power project with capacity to generate 800 MW and which has been in operation since June, will supply clean energy for the match stadiums.

Until such time as we have a renewable electrical grid and electrified transportation and buildings with clean energy we are going to need to make some sacrifices as to how we do things:
This will entail Avoiding all unnecessary energy consumption. Shifting to already existing cleaner ways of doing things and Improving our efficiency in all areas of energy use.
Here are some ideas from the IEA:
Researchers established how much final energy use, is needed to enable a Decent Living Standard (DLS).
(DLS: βthe capability of living a healthy life, guaranteeing physical and social mobility, communicating and participating in the life of the community including consumption.β)
That number is between 20 and 50 GJ cap-1 yr-1
We cannot continue with this high fossil fuel energy consumption if want to avoid a climate catastrophe!
