Looking up on Google, the search results for companies currently producing synthetic biofuel makes me think that those fuels are already on the market; as in some of the gasoline we put in our tanks actually contain even trace amounts of carbon-neutral fuel.

Obviously I'm probably misinterpreting this out of wishful thinking, but anyone have read up on any of this?

via KTM, it seems like the switch to non-fossil hydrocarbons could be accelerated by taxing C12 isotopic content. Or perhaps the lack of C14/C13.

I know it's popular to hate Amazon, but this is pretty effing cool. There are now 5000 all electric Rivian delivery vans deployed in the US and thousands more in Europe. 100,000 have been ordered for the US alone, putting Amazon on track to becoming carbon neutral.

@rowenamonde How it works is a country like Zamunda promises to plant 10k trees and buy 10k electric cars by year 2050. The market says that’s 50k #CarbonCredits. Some company burns loads of fuel, and the market says if they buy all those credits for $10k, it will balance out their carbon footprint. Zamunda’s government gets a nice check up front, the company announces they are #CarbonNeutral, and by 2050 nobody will know if Zamunda followed through or if it made any difference.

Finland will be carbon neutral by 2035, one of the fastest targets ever. The Nordic country relies on nuclear power for a third of its electricity, with Europe’s largest reactor starting up this year. It is also scaling up wind and solar power, shifting away from fossil fuels and wood burning, and promoting sustainable transport and consumption.
