Never trust the front of a box of snacks when you're on -- always check the back.

This is on protein bars labeled "low glycemic" (what does that even mean?):

29g carbs total (17g *added*)

The 2g fiber knocks the net down to 27g, but this one protein bar exceeds my entire allotment of daily carbohydrates.

I don't understand meals that are basically nothing but noodles. I see a lot of recipes for things like "chili oil noodles" -- it's just noodles with a sprinkling of maybe green onions for color. Or noodles with various sauces on them, little else. Nothing but starch. Would I eat a loaf of bread and call it a meal? (I would not) When I make pasta, I tend to minimize the pasta base and maximize the sauce including large chunks of vegetables & often meat.
