Mr Cardinal returned for another visit today.
We think he's the young male who visited all last Spring. Tho his feathers look kinda ruffled, his crown is no longer the floppy mohawk it was.
I'm pleasantly surprised that we are able to identify specific birds, not juat species but individuals.

As the state bird on North Carolina, I see the Northern Cardinal pretty regularly on my daily walks around the local parks.
This day was special as this male northern cardinal flew out in the open near me and starting to sing for a while and after he was finished, he gave me a smile.

I'm making slowly but surely progress on the #stainedglass #Cardinal panel. This is one of a two-piece commission. This panel has almost 600 pieces, and its companion piece has just over 400.
I have all the pieces cut now I'm just fine-tuning them on the glass grinder before I copper foil and solder them. I hope to have it completed next week and the second by the end of the month.

Usually when I see the Northern Cardinal they are generally at a distance and fly away if I approach.
One day I was visited by this cardinal who flew in very close to me to the point where I didn't even have to zoom in on him because it was that close.
I took this as a visit from a loved one from heaven and reminded me of the following quote "Hope is seeing the light, despite all the darkness"
