For me drinking was about not losing control...which is what I credit for my ability to avoid becoming an alcoholic like my father. I certainly had the opportunity. Beer o'clock on Friday at a company I used to work for definitely encouraged such things.

I very much grew to enjoy craft beers, and developed my favorites. I'd like to get back into that, but not while I'm still a #caregiver @caregivers (end of thread)

I've been working with my therapist to solve my anger issues. I do have them, and know I need to solve them. It is an ongoing process.

Part of that is getting a solid sleep schedule. I've always been a night owl, staying up late. It became a crutch I was using for my caregiving. After my father goes to bed, that is *me* time for the most part. So I try to maximize that. That meant I would frequently stay up to 2,3,4, or even 5am.

A simple thing...making appointments for my father.

Not so simple when I call the place 3 times in 2 days, only to get a voicemail every time. And they don't return calls after getting the voicemail.

I called the nurse's line after getting frustrated after leaving the second vm. She passed a message for me to get a call back.

The callback came....while I was talking with the trapper about taking care of our racoon problem.

Then I left the 3rd vm.

One of my headmates mentioned on their account that we /finally/ have a #caregiver starting Monday - I'm so excited! We're going to have her get us a pizza the first day, just to celebrate. And then we're going to eat SO many vegetables. I miss vegetables. 😭

And scrambled eggs! Hopefully, at least one of them (we've hired two people) will be good at making scrambled eggs.

Yesterday, I got confirmation that one of my system's caregivers will FINALLY be starting on Monday, after over five months of going through the system. Only five more days of the same TV dinner over and over!! Soon!!!
