Great Albums - 1970s: #Rush – #CaressOfSteel (1975). This headscratcher nearly got them dropped by Mercury in the US (Which bit of “Didacts and Narpets” didn’t they get?). But it was a needed step to purge the Fillmore boogie of the first two LPs. “I Think I’m Going Bald” wasn’t quite the right way forward, but “Bastille Day” is classic Rush and “The Necromancer” got them thinking conceptually in ways that would pay off next LP.
