Meanwhile over in the #oil market, prices continue to drop, approaching half the level they were a year ago...

so we can expect some more annoyance at how quickly (or slowly) price changes impact on forecourt pricing...

however for those interested in ending #fossilfuel use & promoting #greenenergy and/or #publictransport, this isn't great news as petrol cars will be getting cheaper to use (again), although for #workers dependent on their cars (i.e. #careworkers) this will be very welcome

Potentially putting the 'cat among the pigeons' Local Councils have made an offer to a range of lowest paid council #workers that works out at (according to the FT) 'an increase of 9.42 % this year & 22% over the two years since April 2021 for the lowest paid, with a 2023 uplift of 3.88%for top earners'.

This is partly driven by an increasing #workforce crisis in the council/public sector which has seen #TeachingAssistants, #careworkers & others leaving for better paid private sector jobs...

I’ve been blathering on about #CareWorkers for around 30 years, ever since I was a volunteer at Age UK, in Hull, when my youngest child had just gone to school. I’ve been asking for more respect for their professional expertise - and higher wages for those working in care. Now I’m moving to here, I hope to find others who share my views or work in the care profession. Anyone out there?
