Alabama police held a press conference about the Carlee Russell case. Hoover Police Chief Nicholas Derzis said she searched "Amber alerts", "bus tickets" and "taking money from a register" before she went missing.

Alabama police revealed many details from their investigation today. Ms. Russell said, while she was looking for the child, an unidentified man came out of the woods claiming, he was also looking for the child.

Carlee said she was then forced into a car and later kept in the back of a tractor-trailer. She told police that she managed to escape but, was captured again. Ms. Russell said she was blindfolded, taken to a house. where she was photographed on a bed and fed cheese crackers by an unknown woman the next morning.

Alabama police also revealed the search history on her phone.
The searches included:

Tuesday, July 11, 7:30 a.m. – “You have to pay for an Amber alert”

Thursday, July 13, 1:03 a.m. – “How to take money from a register without being caught”

Thursday, July 13, 2:13 a.m. – “Birmingham bus station”

Thursday, July 13, 2:35 a.m. – A search for a one-way ticket from Birmingham to Nashville with a departure date of July 13.

Thursday, July 13, 12:10 p.m. – A search for the movie “Taken.”

Two searches related to Amber alerts on a computer at Carlee’s place of employment, including one regarding the maximum age of an Amber alert.

The investigation is still underway.
