The Eagle Tower at Caernarfon Castle, or Carnarvon to the colonialists who built it... in an 1888 engraving. Its name comes from the sculptures of stone eagles on the battlements at the top of the tower.

On 26 November 1922 #HowardCarter breaks seal on #Tutankhamun Tomb door. Peers inside with a candle. Lord #Carnarvon asks: "Can you see anything?" Carter says, "Yes, wonderful things!" They have discovered the most intact Egyptian tomb, packed with all a pharaoh needs in eternity.
