Sometimes you feel like a nut.

This little fluffy bird is a Carolina chickadee. These chickadees move in and out of bird feeders swiftly. They usually drag their catch, the unsuspecting small seed, off to a tree. Occasionally, I catch one doing what this bird is doing, holding the seed between its feet and work on getting it open. Cool right?

You know, for months; I've been misidentifying these birds as black-capped chickadees. It wasn't until this morning's reading that I realized that I was mistaken. I'm way too far south. I suppose that I can be forgiven for that mistake because they look virtually identical.
