1) A question to the on here: How do you approach people who are not willing to give up their car or generally are very skeptical around reducing and justify it by saying something along the lines of "Oh, well just look at everything else that is emitting waaay more than cars".
I am frequently caught in the situation where I am arguing against someone (with ), but they still manage to make me feel uncertain in some way...

@Silvergoatish @rivoluzioneurbanamobilita That is sadly true, and it's becoming more of a problem as the number of people driving increases further.
In the article below you can watch a documentary which was on the TV in the back in 1992. I watched it when it went out. I was even back then because cars were already causing such huge problems but since then the number of cars has *doubled* just as predicted.
It's a truly terrible situation. We can't fix the problems caused by cars by building ever more of them, but that's what politicians have tried to do for decades, with one type of car after another declared to be a solution of some kind and receiving government subsidy, but actually they've all just added to the problems.
So yes, listening the voice of drivers is hopeless. They don't even really know what they want. As Henry Ford once said, "if I'd asked people what they wanted they'd have said 'a faster horse'". It's the same now with people demanding more/wider roads. More roads won't fix the problem now any more than it did in the past.
