Private car parks are a law unto themselves. The only saving grace is that the meters are old-school coin only, so you can lower your blood pressure by giving your ticket to someone else. Myself and Loreburn Community Council are currently battling to save a park in Dumfries. As part of the Whitesands Flood Defence Project the Council want to concrete over a park for more car parking spaces.
What makes it particularly daft is that the Flood scheme may well never happen.

It can seat 7 people (2 fold down seats) and has a big boot. However, every car in this car park around me towers over my car. One BMW almost has a bonnet as high as my car. It's an arms race.
