Exactly. It's not just the process but also the designs are by and for #carSupremacy. New concrete bikeways aren't wide enough to meet demand, let alone #ClimateAction goals. They need to be operating a working prototype NETWORK, #tacticalUrbanism, not designing a permanent monument. Then ask people who are actually using it, or even just observe, and adjust. Maybe they can change, but I've said all this for a decade, and now I'm at #DefundDOTs until I see it.

Cars are given 2 extra freeway lanes & people are left with scraps. The idea that we need to have a bake sale for a protected bike lane and concrete sidewalk "#CompleteStreets" so as not to disrupt the #carSupremacy is why #Portland's #SWcorridor plan failed. In what addled state does a #trafficEngineer aim a STOP sign at crosswalk users who have the right of way? Do you expect pedestrians to stop and yield to drivers at this crosswalk? Besides being meaningless under state crosswalk law, it also goes against the Oregon bicycle design guide, which clearly states that bikeways are given priority at minor street crossings.
