Took the to work today. Spent an hour before driving home to be a one car parade through Springfield, the bass of old school hip hop rattling the streets. $4/gallon gas dismisses the joy in the joy ride, but seeing surprised motorists with smiles or confused expressions is always priceless.

I wish Volkwagen would split the Beetle off into its own sub-brand and go all-in on trims and options. You want a classy Beetle? We got you? Funky Beetle? Here you go! Electric Beetle? Why not? Fast and Sporty? Start your engine!

Instead they're just sitting on the I.P. because they screwed up their earnings with Dieselgate and were too afraid to cannibalize GTI sales.

Unexpectedly found myself in Massachusetts for a funeral. Staying about 30 minutes from Cambridge, so I took some time tonight to make a pilgrimage I've planned to go on for a long time. Made it to Hahvaaad Squayaaah and saw the law offices of Dewey Cheetem & Howe (aka Car Talk Plaza). Also found Tom's plaque. Too bad I forgot to bring this week's puzzler answer (written on the back of a $20 bill, of course)!
