I also listen to audiobooks or podcasts, but I really like those better when I’m moving around a bit more. I used to read more than I do now. My eyes are cranky enough these days that it’s harder than I wish it was to find a setup & the right glasses to change fine focus to reading.

I started listening to audiobooks years ago to keep that part of my brain amused while listening. I often listen to things multiple times.

Eclectic listening tastes. Repeat faves include Pride and Prejudice (read by Rosamund Pike); Kaiju Preservation Society (read by Wil Wheaton); and Discovery of Witches. Recent listens include How to American, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Book Lovers, and Crocodile on the Sandbank

At the minute, I’m doing #blackworkembroidery while we have music on shuffle in the background (so far this evening I’ve enjoyed Arch Garrison, Tame Impala and some of the Guilty Pleasures album!), but I often have TV/ streaming on (last week The Peripheral, again)

Sewing usually means BBC Radio 4, often punctuated by YouTube How To videos (especially when I have to thread the overlocker!)

When I got into knitting as an adult, I also got into fanfiction at the same time. I used to copy paste chapters of fanfiction into TextEdit and play it using text-to-speech. Later, a friend gave me his old Kindle which had text to speech and I started listening to all kinds of books while doing crafts.

I mostly read speculative fiction, and so whole series are associated with certain projects. For example, I listened to Murderbot and the Vorkasigan saga while making the bulk of this crochet hexagon blanket.

#FiberArtCamp #CartoonSaturday All kinds of things! The TAZ podcast, various books and other stories, often movies and shows. We watched Spiderverse while knitting the little pocket for our wheelchair.

While sewing, I listen to podcasts ( usually on CBC Listen). While I'm knitting I stream British mystery shows. One does need to remember to stop knitting for a few minutes during the climax, or one will need to tink (unknit) back and do that bit over again. #cartoonsaturday #fiberartcamp

It's #CartoonSaturday at #FiberArtCamp - except I can only work on simple things while I watch TV, and to be honest I'm really not very good at *watching* while I do anything else anyway. So football games and car races are ideal. And of course, spinning with Le Tour.

I need something to listen to while I'm sewing, although I seem to be needing more silence than I used to.

I don't think I have a preference of audio books vs tv/movies, but the vibe has to be just right. I tend to prefer scifi shows. Can't depend too heavily on action. Music is often a key factor.

Shows I have liked in the past: The Expanse, Dark Matter, Firefly, Altered Carbon, Julie and the Phantoms, Heartstopper.

I get through A LOT of TV when I'm quilting. I'll typically decide on a show and just binge through it and move onto another. There are requisites though: it has to be something that doesn't need my constant attention, especially visually, so nothing with subtitles. For my current project I was working through The X-Files, but I've taken a break and trying out Critical Role which has been fun.

I love some good background noise whole knitting. Andrea Mowry was my first love. I've just started watching Laura Penrose.

If not that, then an audiobook or an e-book reading on my knee.

It's #CartoonSaturday at #FiberArtCamp, which is all about what you watch, listen to or read while doing fibre-y stuff.

For me, it's music. Always music. I tend to fire up my music player and let shuffle do its thing, so I get a never-ending eclectic mix of all the music I've collected over the past 30+ years. I like the randomness, and sometimes there's some wonderful little sequences or segues that are accidentally perfect.

#knitting is a watching kind of craft - whatever I'm in the mood for - series (I love British crimes shows), documentaries, movies.

#crochet depends on the complexity of the stitch, either watching (see above) or listening - mostly podcasts of all kinds, no audio books.

#spinning - mostly listening, plying is more watching

# weaving - definitely listening only, and easy stuff at that.
