Dans "Une virée en famille”, nous allons raconter l’histoire d’une famille partie en virée nature dans les Rocheuses, dans une zone sauvage et peu fréquentée, afin de réaliser un périple mêlant kayak et randonnées. Cette famille vit assez mal le deuil récent d’un enfant, et voit dans cette virée l’occasion de resserrer les liens, de prendre un nouveau départ.

For #SeptembeRPG #SeptemberRPG #SeptembeRPG2023 5 I have some thoughts.

When I began DMing I tried to railroad and not railroad at the same time. I tried to guide into scenes as good as I could without forcing a lot.

Until I forced a scene really bad.

And I went into the other point and I finished into #PbtA and then I learnt how not to prepare and I got used and comfy by not preparing.

But I felt not so right sometimes.

I felt lost, but could not say how or why.

Recently I found #TrophyDark and #TrophyGold #FateOfCthulhu #CarvedFromBrindlewood ...

Ways to prepare not tight at all, but having some kind of prep.

And it clicked si well. I have DM'd things like #BlackSwordHack by facing the prep as a Trophy incursion, for exemple.

And that is the greatest change I've got: learning how to prep as it fits with my DMing

Apocalypse Keys es mi nueva obsesión hasta que pueda echarle la mano en español.

Un juego #PbtA (sorprendente) sobre Monstruos capaces de desatar el Apocalipsis que pertenecen a una división que intenta evitarlo luchando contra otros monstruos.
#Hellboy y #ChainsawMan son obras que o han influenciado o se les reconoce el parecido.

El sistema toma las Keys de #EcosDisonantes (eventos narrativos que dan +1 a una tirada posterior, lo hemos visto de otra forma en los #BelongingOutsideBelonging ), los tramos alterados de #Libreté (7- fallo, 8-9 éxito total, 10+ Éxito con consecuencias porque te pasaste de frenada), libretos-conflicto (como #Mask o #LasÁvidasEspadachinasSáficas : tu libreto codifica tu conflicto interno, no sólo cosas guachis), sistema se relaciones tipo Monsterhearts/AES, el contador paralelo de ruina de #SombrasUrbanas (un contador de experiencia que abre Movimientos muy poderosos pero al llenarse, en este caso, te transforma en un Desencadenante del Apocalipsis y eres tú al que hay que detener) y el sistema de misterio de #CarvedFromBrindlewood (pistas abiertas que van ganando sentido al descubrirlas y una tirada de descubrir el misterio).

J'ai commencé à parler de Two-Peaks Island il y a quelques jours. C'est un #JDR qui est arrivé un peu par inadvertance, alors que je réfléchissais à d'autres choses.

Il s'est imposé, j'ai griffonné des pages, démarré le traitement de texte et commencé à écrire.

@WyrdScience Ich schließe mich @Phybe an, die intelligentesten #PnPDE Systeme sind für mich gerade #CarvedfromBrindlewood wie #TheBetween oder #PublicAccess. Jede Mechanik ist darauf ausgelegt die Story oder die Charaktergeschichte voran zu treiben.

In Public Access hat die Spielleitungen keine Ahnung was den einzelnen Mysteries und der großen Bedrohung zu Grunde liegt. Die Spielleitungen hat Mechaniken, welche Ideen am Tisch aufgreift. Genial! #RPGaDay2023

Two-Peaks Island
Voilà un titre provisoire pour un des (trop nombreux ?) projets de #JDR que je fais vivre dans mes carnets.
Mais celui-là, il progresse vite, il avance vite, j'ai pleins d'idées, et ça m'enthousiasme.
Mais c'est quoi ?

C'est un #CarvedFromBrindlewood déjà. Et le pitch, ben, c'est Lost. Sans le cacher. Des inconnus se crachent, découvrent une île étrange, vivent des aventures et des drames, et on les découvre via des flashbacks.

Le tout en mode émergent.

J'en reparle bientôt

# 3 : premier jeu acheté cette année : Public Access.

En bon fan des jeux d'horreur, celui-ci m'a fait de l'œil tout de suite, par son thème (l'horreur statique) et par sa mécanique. Je n'allais pas être déçu 🙂

@empathy @renegaderich Many games in the "Powered by Apocalypse" family build this approach into the game mechanics. It's especially true for games in the "Carved From Brindlewood" sub-group of #PbtA games. The Ennie-nominated game Trophy does that as well.

I played in an AMAZING game of "The Between" earlier today at #MagpieGames monthly Community Play Day.

The Between is a narrative-focused #TTRPG by Jason Cordova about a group of mysterious monster-hunters in Victorian London. Published by #GauntletRPG.

My character was "Wild" Rose Larabee [The American], a pistol-packing, monster-hunting cowgirl from Wyoming with a mysterious past and a strange curse.

It was a fantastic game!

Something I find really cool from impro games like #TrophyDark #TrophyGold #CarvedFromBrindlewood #Ironsworn #Starforged or #Quietus is having a mechanic way to stablish the end of the story (the 5 rings, the sets and the 30 Gold goal, the Mystery Roll, the Promises and the two clocks).
That gives a pacing structure as the written Adventure is lacking and the risk is the game going on until tireness, not a real ending.
